Maintenance Assistant Maypole Care Home, 99 Lower Northam Road, Hedge End, Southampton, SO30 4FS 9am-3pm - 3 days per week. As a Maintenance Assistant at Maypole Care Home you’ll ensure the care home remains functional at all times and our residents have a safe and comfortable environment. We’ll support you to get the most out of your career, including putting you through the City & Guilds Level 3 Award in the in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment. What the role involves
  • Ensuring that all maintenance and repair tasks are completed to a high standard with minimal disruption to our residents and visitors, including the maintenance of offices, workshops, and plant rooms
  • Carrying out ad-hoc internal decoration of all accessible areas as indicated, ensuring it’s maintained to a high standard
  • Reporting unrepairable defects to management, escalating, or seeking specialist repair if required
  • Assisting with all health and safety and compliance checks are carried to deadlines, and all policies and guidelines are adhered to at all times
Who we’re looking for Friendly and approachable, you’ll have some understanding of building services including, heating, hot and cold-water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution, and plumbing. You understand the importance of maintaining high standards and have knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and compliance. You can work flexibly to meet demands and you’re always happy to help the wider team. You’ll enjoy working with others and building relationships with our residents. What’s in it for you?
